Voyageur Academy achieves excellence through dedicated staff members, strong curriculum, excellent parental involvement and a host of extracurricular activities.

Voyageur students accept personal responsibility as they pursue academic success. Voyageur Academy is a free, public charter school serving students in  grades K-12, with students in grades 7-12 attending our campus at nearby Consortium College Preparatory High School. We are chartered by Ferris State University.

We create and enhance our students' education and strengthen their foundation by
providing them with the drive and determination to achieve academic excellence. Students receive a quality, well-rounded education through consistent discipline, intense focus and continuous hard work. Ultimately, we prepare all our students for success in high  school, college and society.

Our partnership with Michigan First Credit Union provides real-life learning opportunities for students. Under the supervision of Michigan
First personnel, upper elementary students hold banking positions such as tellers, data entry clerks, and managers. All students, K-6th grade, are encouraged to open accounts with the credit union and they are encouraged to make weekly deposits. They will be here on 5/8 & 5/22.

During April, each classroom was given a style of poem ie: acrostic, cinquain, diamonte, etc. Students created original poems from those styles and they were displayed on a "Poet-tree" in the gym. We also conducted a poetry slam that was open to all students that wrote original poems. The slam took place during an all-school assembly. The winners were Denasia R., Diamond H., Reyna A., Destiny F., and Anngeliz R.

Our 2nd annual Leona Group Spelling Bee was held on Friday, April 20th. Our four finalists that went to the competition were: Anngeliz R., Sydney A., Antonio F., and D'laina H. They performed so well that we had at least one finalist in every round. Anngeliz R. was the runner up of the whole spelling bee and we won Team Spelling Bee Champion! Check out the picture in the photo gallery.
